[INTERVIEW 3] ‘ Best qualities of each WINNER member as picked out amongst themselves’

Members of the group WINNER chose each other’s best qualities. Saying there are “‘MILLIONS’ of reasons to love”, they emphasized their teamwork.

 

WINNER’s new single, ‘MILLIONS’, will be available on the 19th at 6 PM. YG Entertainment said, “The song begins with an exciting intro of guitar and clapping, led into a warm chorus with a sentimental melody. The rhythmical whistles of the chorus, and the bounce in the kick directs the song in a different way than the first half,” and that this was a song that had a WINNER-like winter feeling to it.

 

The members’ personal participation in the lyric-writing and song-producing aspects demonstrated an added level of maturity in their musical skills. A song that whispers love to a significant other, the line, “The reason I like you, MILLIONS”, repeats in the chorus.

 

The members received a question asking them to share what they like about each other, and they explored each other’s charms.

 

Kang Seung Yoon said that Lee Seung Hoon’s “hair color is lovable”, referencing to Seung Hoon’s change in physical appearance with his pink hairstyle. Seung Yoon continued by expressing that he “believed the killing part in ‘MILLIONS’ is Seung Hoon.” He hinted, “Whether he’s singing or in the music video, you can see his lovable charm.”

 

Lee Seung Hoon said, “Song Min Ho’s constant exploration into his personal growth and development is beautiful. Even before coming to the interview, he was trying to find another vocal imitation he could do. For Min Ho, who is constantly working towards a progression in his variety skills, I would like to present him with the ‘Variety Star of the Year Award’”, which brought about laughter.

 

Song Min Ho replied, “Thank you for the award,” before going on to explain, “Kim Jin Woo’s charm is that he is the eldest of WINNER. With his image, he is cute enough to have a nickname like ‘maht-nae’ [*’맏내’, an eldest member that has adorable qualities like the youngest] and he is handsome but also, in reality, he has the reliability of the eldest brother. He always leads us, and if any of us within WINNER feel a bit down, he cracks jokes, tries to lighten the atmosphere, and just overflows with thoughtfulness. His existence alone is more than enough reason for him to deserve love.”

 

Kim Jin Woo looked at Kang Seung Yoon and said, “He’s a person that likes to give love more than receive it. He’s a person that is more deserving of being loved, but I think he’s just used to giving it instead. I hope next year will be a year where he receives even more love.”
